and satire. Fantasy fans will also enjoy this read, which dabbles a bit in the
realm of speculative science & scientists, even dipping slightly into urban
legends, for a well rounded entertainment experience.

“A Satirical Look At Alien Visitation & Abduction.”
Aliens are human, and have been coming to Earth for a long
time. Although the universe may be inhabited by humans they are as different as
birds are on Earth. For instance a peacock and sparrow are both birds, but look
how different they are to one another. The government has two highly funded
agencies assigned to the problem of aliens: The Alien Research Agency, run by
Karl Brunner, who is trying to prove that aliens exist. The other agency is the
Limestone Deposit Survey Group, their A-team, or in the case rated Fire for the
highest, consist of Stewart Faulkner, Mindy Kemp, Gregory Webster, and New Guy
(military rifleman). They know aliens exist. In fact aliens are supposed to
check in with them when they visit earth to be immunized against our biological
bugs. Just like we receive immunizations when visiting other countries. But some
aliens sneak in, abduct a human, and make their own vaccines. That’s where
Stewart and his team come in.
Now an alien craft has been detected about to abduct an
earthling, but Stewart has set himself up as the victim, and takes over the
ship. But while he’s moving the spaceship to a secret location four aliens he
had overlooked drop from the craft to the surface, and become illegal
trespassers. These include Dexim, Lynting, Tobi, and Jin; they are on a secret
mission, possibly to find a fifth alien.
This was a fun read, though you won’t find much action or
tension. Things are sort of mellow as the aliens play cat and mouse with
government teams chasing them. I thought the aliens were a bit too human, not
only in looks but feelings, and would have preferred seeing a little more
mystery and conflict between everyone. This is definitely a different kind of
science fiction tale than what one expects with the subject matter. Readers who
liked The Hitchhicker’s Guide To The Galaxy should find this one similar in
context. Highly recommended.
