My Blog

Retirement. Publishers, thank you for the many years of reading pleasure you gave me, but all good things must come to an end. Due to failing eyesight I am forced to retire. I can no longer review your books, and any that you send will be donated to the local library, unread. Do not send any more. I can only read for a couple hours every day, and this does not allow me to finish a book in reasonable time. I will be devoting time to my own books from now on, and reading on a personal level. Books that interest me. I prefer paperbacks and hardbacks, not eBooks. My eyesight has been failing the last few years, and I cannot handle hundreds of review books any more. My books are still available for review. Anyone interested in reviewing any of them, they are found in the Link to Tom’s Books On Amazon. Contact me for pdf copies at

Newspaper Article

Tom Johnson, local author of science fiction, mystery, and adventure fiction has released four books this year under his FADING SHADOWS imprint from Seymour. The paperbacks are perfectly bound in California, and then shipped to Seymour. Two of the books are the final two novels in his popular Jurassic series, “Treasure of Jur” and “Drums of Jur”, books five and six of a 20th century family caught in the Jurassic Period of our prehistoric past. The series has received praise from around the world.

“The Soul Stealers” by Tom is an episodic novel of angels on Earth, here to help people cross over who die violent or tragic deaths. This has been a huge success on Amazon’s Kindle, and many readers requested it be put into a paperback edition.

The fourth book, “Classic Pulp Fiction Stories” is a collection of short stories by Tom featuring heroes from the pulp magazines of the 1930s and ‘40s era. The characters that influenced the comic book super heroes later on.

FADING SHADOWS was an imprint started by Tom & Ginger Johnson in 1982, but ceased after Tom suffered a stroke in 2002. A few years ago, they started the imprint again, releasing two paperbacks of crime fiction by Tom, “Shadowhawke” and “Murder Town”. The couple hopes to continue the imprint with future paperbacks.
