My Blog

Retirement. Publishers, thank you for the many years of reading pleasure you gave me, but all good things must come to an end. Due to failing eyesight I am forced to retire. I can no longer review your books, and any that you send will be donated to the local library, unread. Do not send any more. I can only read for a couple hours every day, and this does not allow me to finish a book in reasonable time. I will be devoting time to my own books from now on, and reading on a personal level. Books that interest me. I prefer paperbacks and hardbacks, not eBooks. My eyesight has been failing the last few years, and I cannot handle hundreds of review books any more. My books are still available for review. Anyone interested in reviewing any of them, they are found in the Link to Tom’s Books On Amazon. Contact me for pdf copies at fadingshadows40@gmail.com

Lord Bentley Needs A Wife

A Regency. It’s late August, and the heir to the title, Earl of Bentley, faces a dilemma. He must find, persuade, and marry a titled and moneyed English lady before October 30th or he will lose his estates, lands, and finances. So, Bentley, unlearned in the Rules of Love and the intricacies of women’s psyches confronts a ticking clock. He hires a matchmaker. Lady Camilla Merriweather, eldest daughter of a viscount, must use her considerable beauty to marry a rich, titled, Englishman to save her large family from the poverty and disgrace brought upon them by huge losses in the stock market. Due to a mix-up, Lady Camilla finds herself at a house party set in motion by the Earl’s matchmaker. Will a series of blunders and adventures lead to a happily-ever-after ending?

Lord Bentley, the elder son of an Earl, is being forced to wed in order to inherit his rank as an Earl. However, his main interest is not in a wife, but in his horses. Lady Camilla is faced with similar problems, as her family wants her to marry into a titled family with money. Lord Bentley’s younger brother is sabotaging his father’s wishes, hoping to obtain the Earl title instead of his older brother. A matchmaker works up a suitable list of women for the older brother to choose from. The younger brother substitutes another list with names of other women to invite to the gala, and Lady Camilla Merriweather is on the new list and sparks fly when she meets the older brother. But with no family money, will the father accept his choice as a bride?

This was a quick read, and highly enjoyable. The author’s writing is Faith based, and her Regency Romances are fun and interesting. Highly recommended.
