ECHOES was the hobby magazine
for pulp enthusiasts. Albert Tonic called fanzines “An historical journal of
limited distribution.” But ECHOES originally had a print run of 1000 copies,
and a subscription circulation of over 250, with many other copies sold through
dealers. It was the longest running pulp hobby magazine, beginning in June 1982
and running through December 2004, with 100 issues as a magazine, and 57 issues
as a newsletter. There have been two anniversary issues also. ECHOES REVISITED
in 2002, and ECHOES 30 in 2012. The image shown here is issue #32 by Ron
