My Blog

Retirement. Publishers, thank you for the many years of reading pleasure you gave me, but all good things must come to an end. Due to failing eyesight I am forced to retire. I can no longer review your books, and any that you send will be donated to the local library, unread. Do not send any more. I can only read for a couple hours every day, and this does not allow me to finish a book in reasonable time. I will be devoting time to my own books from now on, and reading on a personal level. Books that interest me. I prefer paperbacks and hardbacks, not eBooks. My eyesight has been failing the last few years, and I cannot handle hundreds of review books any more. My books are still available for review. Anyone interested in reviewing any of them, they are found in the Link to Tom’s Books On Amazon. Contact me for pdf copies at fadingshadows40@gmail.com

“Fast-paced, and a thrill on every page!”

When Archie Doyle’s long time friend, Fatty Corcoran is set up for a kill, but fails, the mob boss sends his top enforcer, Terry Quinn to see who set him up and why. In a complicated plot, there are too many loose ends to tie things together, but slowly Quinn starts making headway. Is there a mob war in the works? Archie Doyle controls the west side, while Howard Rothman and Ira Shiparo control the east side, and matters don’t look good for peace to continue if Rothman’s gang has set them up.

There are no white hats in this novel. It is exactly what it is supposed to be, an inside look at the mob in 1930. With mature language and violent mob hits, the author doesn’t back off the gritty tale. This is a time when the mob has the police and politicians in their pockets. Crooked cops are on the take, and the mobs control the money. Gang warfare heats up and blood spills on the streets.

Terrence McCauley’s writing is topnotch, and his pacing never lets down for a second. You may not like the characters, but you’ll root for them to win anyway.
