    I like the tortured hero aspect of noir. A man, not especially good, but trying to be in a dark world.

    For me, Noir is a secret pleasure which is so far removed from my cosy middle aged life as to be positively exciting

    I like the mystery, the terror, the fact that no one is generally completely likable in Noir... I don't find it predictable, and that's very satisfying.

    Who can resist the combination of being somewhat doomed. Stuck in a possible Sci fi ish, mystery ish , odd touch of where am I and how did I get here can't get out situation. Just getting into Noir.
